WHAT TO EXPECT

We're glad you are here!

WELCOME!

We know that visiting a new church can be overwhelming and intimidating, we want to do all that we can to make every part of your first visit go as smoothly as possible!

Whether you’ve been around church all of your life or this is your first time stepping foot in a church, we want to make your experience welcoming.

Below, you’ll find everything you need to know before visiting Cornerstone.

What to Expect

CHRIST-CENTERED WORSHIP
Worship that reminds us of what God has done for us and gives a foretaste of what is to come. Our goal is that each and every person present at our worship services would leave with a sense of awe and wonder at what Jesus has done for us.

GOSPEL-DRIVEN TEACHING
We believe that the Bible contains all that we need to live out our salvation. Our teaching reminds us of the gospel that saves us and drives us to pursue a life of holiness. The Gospel is always the point, and Jesus is always the hero of every sermon.

A RELAXED ATMOSPHERE
We are more concerned about you than what you are wearing. Dress comfortably and you’ll fit right in. Grab a cup of coffee in the hall, meet some new friends, and join us as we seek to glorify God.

At Cornerstone, you will find many different kinds of people on different parts of their faith journey. Chances are, there will be many other newcomers just like you.

You’ll find that at Cornerstone, we love helping people follow Jesus as they seek to navigate everyday life and impact others.

During your visit, you’ll find warm and friendly volunteers ready to greet and guide you to a smooth experience at Cornerstone.

FAQs

Where are you located?
#
We are located at 200 Clearview Rd, Cleveland, NC 27013 behind the Food Lion off of NC-HWY 70. The small Town of Cleveland is nestled between Salisbury and Statesville, a 20-25 minute drive from either town. We are also 25-minute drive from China Grove and Mooresville.
On Sundays, when should I arrive?
#
Our Gospel Project classes (aka Sunday School!) start at 9:00 AM. We have a class for every member of your family! We recommend that you arrive fifteen minutes early to allow for parking and checking your children into their classroom.

Our Sunday Worship Service starts promptly at 10:00 AM and usually concludes around 11:15 AM.

Coffee is available! Come early and fellowship with others.
What should I wear?
#
Be relaxed or dress it up—we'll be excited to see you! We're more concerned with meeting your real life needs than about what you wear.
What is the worship and teaching like?
#
At Cornerstone, we focus on simply exposing what the Bible says in each passage while keeping in mind that all passages connect to the overarching story of the whole Bible. The Gospel is always the point, and Jesus is always the hero of every sermon. Whether you are exploring faith for the first time or looking to deepen your relationship with God, you will leave feeling encouraged, challenged, and reminded of His love for you.

We lead with a full band, using contemporary worship music, to create an atmosphere of genuine, Christ-centered praise. It’s not a performance...it’s a response. Our desire is to engage the church in unified worship that lifts high the name of Jesus and draws every heart into His presence.

Still have questions? The best way is to preview a service online and see for yourself!
What about my kids?
#
Starting at 9:00 AM, we offer Gospel Project classes for all ages (aka Sunday School).

Each Sunday during the Worship Service, we offer Children’s Church for two year olds through kindergarten. Children spend the first 20-25 minutes of the worship service with their parents until they are dismissed for Children's Church, shortly before the message begins.

We also provide Nursery care during the Sunday morning service.

However, if you feel most comfortable keeping your child with you in the service, please do so.

What about my teenager?
#
Students 7th grade through 12th grade meet at 9:00 AM on Sunday morning and study the Bible using the Gospel Project curriculum. This is led by our Youth Director as well as a team of highly vetted, and passionate volunteers. We focus on building Christ-like character in our students as well as cultivating friendships that we pray will last a lifetime. But most importantly, creating and cultivating a relationship with Jesus Christ!

Following class, our Youth attend the 10:00 AM worship service, either sitting with their parents or with their friends.

Will I be singled out?
#
No.  We know visiting a new place can feel a little intimidating, so we want to put your mind at ease and we want you to feel free to “check us out” without being singled out.

You won’t be put on the spot. You won’t be asked to stand, or raise your hand or introduce yourself.  You don’t have to sing along unless you feel comfortable. You’re sure to be greeted and welcomed by one of our greeters and lots of other people because they will be glad that you’ve come.

If you have any questions, need prayer, or want to learn more about our events and resources, you'll be given the opportunity to fill out a guest card that's included in our Sunday bulletin or click here for our online Connect Card. This is simply a way for us to serve you better and keep you informed about what’s happening at our church.
Aside from Sunday Services, what else do you offer?
#
As Christians, we know that our faith is more than just a Sunday morning experience. Our goal is to grow in our faith everyday and there are several ways we can do that together. We encourage you to join one of our small groups that meet during the week. We also encourage you and your family to check out some of the resources offered to you through RightNow Media. This digital library is full of great Bible studies and other resources for parents, teens and kids.

Check our Events Calendar and  subscribe to our weekly church newsletter to stay informed on upcoming opportunities.
